9 Reasons Why You’ll Love Having a Spring Wedding

There are many benefits to having a wedding in the spring. From lush gardens and greenery, to seasonal treats, here are the top 9 reasons why couples choose spring for their wedding days.

  1. Off of peak times

A spring wedding in March, April, or May is considered “off season” for most wedding vendors. This means higher chances of your dream vendors having your date available, as well as off season promotions at venues.

  1.  Comfortable temperatures

Summer weddings can be HOT, winter weddings are, of course, cold. Spring weddings seem to be *just right* and provide an opportunity to truly enjoy the weather without sweating in your wedding attire. Most brides who get married in the spring are thankful that their hair and makeup stays in place throughout the entire night due to the comfortable environment!

  1.  More engaged guests (vacation days)

Since weddings typically happen in summer and fall, if you host a spring wedding, it is more likely that your guest will be able to take the time off. They probably have not begun using vacation days yet and there is less chance of dates conflicting.

  1.  Beautiful flower options

It goes without saying that some of the most gorgeous flowers (hello peonies) bloom in the spring time. Here in Maine, we have a slightly longer winter. By the end of May, the flower shops are overflowing with some of the best blooms available. If you are working with a florist who sources locally, consider spring one of the best times to dress up your wedding day with gorgeous botanicals.

  1.  The most lush greenery

Similarly to the beautiful bloom, spring also provides us such lush greenery. If your wedding venue has lawns or fields, keep in mind that spring will be the most vibrant time of year. Also, if you are not a floral person, this is a great time to use natural greenery to decorate your ceremony space.

  1.  Add spring flare to food and beverages

Spring is one of the best times of year for fresh vegetables and herbs. Serve your guests with local cuisine to create a full circle experience they will remember forever. Some of my favorite spring foods here in maine are fresh maple syrup and fiddleheads!

  1.  Do your engagement photos the summer prior

It is generally ideal to send out save the dates about 8 months in advance from your Wedding Date. With a spring ceremony, that creates perfect timing for you to have your engagement photos done the summer prior, and send those save the dates in plenty of time.

8. Symbolism of spring

Spring is all about regeneration, light, and new beginnings. Most people feel a sense of rebirth, joy, and love during the spring.. similarly to those tying the knot!
